All-New Booking Widget 2.0
A smarter, more beautiful booking experience for your guests.
The Tableo booking widget has been completely redesigned. Widget 2.0 brings a cleaner, more modern look with a better mobile experience, along with some useful new features: guests can tag their visit occasion (birthday, anniversary, business dinner and more) and dietary preferences directly in the booking form. Payment details also show up in the booking summary upfront, so guests know what to expect before they confirm.
Existing accounts can switch to the new widget at their own pace using a toggle — new accounts are on Widget 2.0 by default. Your existing styling and branding carries over automatically.
Reserve with Google — Payments Redirect
Collect deposits and no-show fees from guests who book directly through Google.
If you use Reserve with Google and collect deposits, no-show fees, or pre-payments through Tableo, you can now apply those same payment requirements to bookings coming in via Google. Guests are redirected from Google's booking flow to your Tableo payment page to complete their booking securely through Stripe — so your payment rules apply consistently, regardless of where the booking came from.
One thing to check: if you charge cancellation or no-show fees, make sure your Booking Terms clearly state the conditions. Google requires it.
March 2026
Released 6 Mar, 13 Mar & 25 Mar 2026
Email Templates & Custom Branding
Your guests deserve a great first impression — and now they'll get one.
We've completely redesigned all guest-facing email templates. Every automated email your guests receive — booking confirmations, reminders, reconfirmation requests, payment requests and more — now looks clean, professional, and works well on any device and email client.
Your custom branding — logo, colours, and terms — carries through into the new designs. The Email Customisation settings page has also been updated to match, so everything stays consistent.
Widget Styling Now Applies Everywhere
One design, consistent across every booking touchpoint.
Any styling you've set up in your booking widget — colours, fonts, button styles — now applies automatically to your Concierge links and Events widgets too. No extra setup needed. Your brand looks the same wherever your guests book.
Platform Speed Improvements
Faster where it matters most — during service.
This release includes a round of performance improvements focused on keeping things running smoothly when you're busy. The diary and notifications refresh more efficiently, waiting list submissions now process in the background without a page reload, and the support chat loads faster. Nothing to set up — the improvements are live automatically.
22 bug fixes across three March releases, including a security patch on user permissions, floor map elements not rendering correctly in Live mode, a Reserve with Google availability issue, Safari display fixes, and general platform stability improvements.
February 2026
Released 12 Feb, 18 Feb & 26 Feb 2026
WhatsApp Guest Notifications
Reach your guests on the channel they actually check.
Send booking confirmations, reminders, and other automated notifications to your guests via WhatsApp, either alongside SMS or as a replacement for it. WhatsApp messages often have higher open rates and, in many regions, better pricing than SMS, making them a smarter and more efficient way to keep guests informed and reduce no-shows.
Notifications are currently available in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and German, with more languages coming soon.
If a WhatsApp message fails to deliver, Tableo automatically falls back to SMS so the guest still receives the notification.
Messages are sent through the Tableo notifications account, which means your restaurant will not be flooded with direct WhatsApp replies. If a guest does reply, they will receive an automatic message asking them to contact the restaurant directly.
You can view full per-region pricing at app.tableo.com/pricing/messaging.
Automatic Widget Styler
Your booking widget, styled to match your website — in seconds.
Setting up your widget design just got a lot easier. Enter your restaurant's website URL and Tableo will automatically analyse the page and restyle your booking widget to match — colours, fonts, overall look and feel. No design work required, and you can fine-tune anything afterwards.
Smart Patron Filters & Segments
Find exactly the guests you're looking for, instantly.
Your Patrons page now works as a proper segmentation tool. With one click you can filter your guest list by behaviour, dietary preference, or spending — VIPs, vegans, vegetarians, wine lovers, high spenders, low spenders, always-late guests, guests with pets, gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant, and more.
There are also computed segments like first-time visitors, guests who haven't visited in 90 days, and guests who've been in 3 or more times in the last 60 days. Filter to the group you need, then export the list for a targeted email or SMS campaign.
Self-Service Account Management
Full control over your subscription — on your terms, any time.
You can now manage your Tableo subscription directly from within the product, without needing to contact us. Whether you want to pause for a quiet season, downgrade to the free plan, or close your account — it's all self-service and fully transparent.
When you submit a request, a 30-day notice period applies. You'll see exactly what you'll be charged, when the changes take effect, and what happens to your data before you confirm. A confirmation email is sent automatically with all the details. For annual plans, you submit your preferred option and your Account Manager will follow up to confirm.
Automated Reconfirmation for Online Bookings
Ask guests to confirm their booking — automatically, every time.
Until now, sending a reconfirmation request meant enabling it manually on each booking. With this update, you can turn it on once in settings and it applies automatically to all online bookings — widget, Reserve with Google, and other channels — as part of the reminder email sent on the day of the reservation.
If a guest has already confirmed, they'll receive a standard reminder instead. You can still disable it for individual bookings if needed.
Spend Per Booking & Per Patron — Agora Integration
See exactly what your guests spend, right inside Tableo.
For restaurants in Spain using the Agora POS integration, spend data is now visible directly in Tableo — per booking and per patron. It shows up in booking modals, the bookings list, and the patron list, so you can easily spot your best spenders and understand the value each guest brings. Spending data is also available in the Reports section.
Several fixes across three February releases, including payment links now working when a guest has a phone number but no email, GDPR consent updating correctly on repeat bookings, group request flow improvements, floor map fixes on tablet, and Spanish date translation corrections.
January 2026
Released 15 Jan & 21 Jan 2026
Group Booking Requests
Never turn away a large group again.
Large group enquiries can now be handled entirely through Tableo. When a guest tries to book for more people than your online maximum, instead of hitting a dead end they're invited to submit a Group Request. They fill in their details, preferred date and time, party size, and any special requirements — and the request comes through to your Guest List for your team to review.
Accept it and you can send a payment request. Decline it and the guest is notified automatically. Group requests are clearly marked in your Guest List so they're easy to spot and don't get mixed up with regular waiting list entries.
Redesigned Support Page & Book a Demo
Getting help — or getting more from Tableo — has never been easier.
The Support page has been fully redesigned. It's now cleaner and easier to navigate, with direct buttons to chat with the team, book a product demo, schedule a training session, or arrange a call with your account manager — all in one place.
You'll also see a banner on your dashboard that points you to the most relevant option based on where you are in your Tableo journey.
General bug fixes and stability improvements, including floor map usability fixes on tablet, a private booking comment indicator on the floor map, and various translation fixes.
